Reviewing a vending machine for Nerds Gummy Clusters

I take the feedback from long-time readers very seriously. After a recent review of the Wichita City Hall cafeteria, one reader chimed in upset that my energy should be focused on other gems. A suggestion was made to visit a vending machine on 135 north of Newton for Nerds Gummy Clusters.

Admittedly, that area of town is outside my regular coverage. So, I wanted to compromise and see if I could find a vending machine, hopefully under the same or similar ownership that had the same offering. Then I found it.

My journey around Wichita brought me to the WSU Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex at 5015 E. 29th St. N.

Also dubbed as “The Metroplex”, I walked inside and found a vending machine towards the back near the auditorium. At the bottom of the shelf, there was as item F2, the Nerds Gummy Clusters.

The Nerds Gummy Clusters are no secret to our family. We’ve been snacking on them since 2022 and have been huge fans.

I made the purchase and came across a treasure trove of candy that was sweet and gummy on the inside, but tangy and crunchy on the outside. These things blow regular Nerds out of the water.

One criticism, though: The only flavor in stock at the vending machine was rainbow, which happens to be my second favorite flavor. But second is good enough in my opinion as I went through this bag in minutes; not even sure if I took a single breath.

Could I have driven to the vending machine on 135 north of Newton? Of course, the adventure would have been fun. But for the sole reason of grabbing some Nerds Gummy Clusters, I found it necessary to be more environmentally conscious and save the gas to a closer vending machine.

On my way home, I stopped by Dillons and picked up a bag of the very berry flavor of Nerds Gummy Clusters. These were so much better.

Next time you’re at a vending machine, be sure to look for the Nerds Gummy Clusters. You won’t regret it.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
