Update on Raising Cane’s… location confirmed for west Wichita

Raising Cane's

Last week, we broke the news that Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers was planning on coming to Wichita.

It would be the chicken chain’s first location in the city. The customer relations team confirmed the news but did not share an exact site.

This afternoon, we were able to obtain some more information in regard to where it will be.

Drum roll please……

West Wichita, you will be the lucky recipient of the city’s first Raising Cane’s.

It was shared with me that they have locked down a space at Ridge Road and West University Street, which is the intersection that also houses a Freddy’s Frozen Custard, Panera Bread and more. Could it be the former Pizza Hut space at 350 S. Ridge Road?  They did not provide any context as to exactly where at the corner but many signs point to that particular Pizza Hut space.

I’m told construction will begin in Q1 of 2025. As they get closer to that timeframe, they will have a better idea of when Raising Cane’s will open doors to the public.

Known for its chicken finger meals, the restaurant was founded by Todd Graves in Baton Rouge, LA in 1996 and named after Graves’ yellow Labrador. Raising Cane’s is a fast-food chain that now has more than 700 restaurants in 24 states, and multiple countries outside the United States.
