What to expect at Puffette; a new bakery specializing in cream puffs

Introducing Puffette. It is a new bakery that took over the former Taco Grande space at 2315 W. 21st St.

Specializing in cream puffs with different filling flavors, the bakery is having a soft opening all week long until Friday, June 21. Currently, the hours are noon to 7 p.m., but the owner shared that it could change in the next week or so.

Inside Puffette, the seating was sparse, but there’s plenty of room inside for more tables as the bakery grows.

But the most important thing you’ll want to know is about the cream puffs. There were two sizes: the regular cream puffs and the cream puff jr. The cream puffs are about two inches high and a little over three inches wide. The cream puff jr is a little over an inch tall and two inches wide.

The cream puffs can be ordered individually, in 4-packs, 8-packs and 12 packs. While the cream puff jr can be ordered in 4-packs, 8-packs and 16-packs.

There were also teas, lemonades, coffee, and milk teas.

During my visit, Puffette had six fillings options: vanilla, chocolate, matcha, Oreo, caramel, strawberry. I ordered a mix and match of all flavors in the cream puff and cream puff jr. sizes.

I also ordered a coffee milk tea and fresh lemon black tea which I guzzled down on my way home from Puffette.

Here’s a visual of the difference between the two puff sizes.

My favorite so far has been the strawberry. It was a pretty classic pastry with plenty of cream filling to please any sweet tooth.

I met one of the owners who was very nice. During my stop, I was the only one at Puffette and not sure how many people knew it was open given that it’s only been a few days. So, here’s your notice to go check out this new family owned and operated bakery in town.
