The Uncle Devin Show® is an interactive, musical experience for children by renowned drummer and percussionist, Devin Walker. The show cultivates the minds of children through percussion instruments and is a dynamic cross between DC’s Trouble Funk and Schoolhouse Rock! For children ages 3 and up and their families.

■ 1 Million Cups | June 19
Where: Groover Labs
1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m., one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors.

■ 40th Anniversary Screening of Purple Rain | June 20
Where: Orpheum Theatre
A young musician, tormented by an abusive situation at home, must contend with a rival singer, a burgeoning romance, and his own dissatisfied band, as his star begins to rise.

■ Bradley Fair Summer Concert Series | June 20
Where: Bradley Fair
Join us for our annual 5-week concert series on Thursday evenings from June 6 through July 4. This year, enjoy new music genres from soul to bluegrass, and almost everything in between. Live music starts under the sunset at 7:30 PM. Before you find your spot on the Plaza or set up your picnic around the lake, be sure and order takeout from your Bradley Fair favorites or try something new from some local food trucks. Kid-friendly pre-show activities will take place beginning at 6 PM to keep the little ones entertained while dining al fresco.

■ Elsewhere Fest and Conference | June 21-22
Where: Various Venues in Wichita
Elsewhere is a place you go to step away from the noise of the world to gain clarity within a community of deep thinkers and creative explorers. Elsewhere is a burgeoning creative mecca, where free and inquisitive thought forges collective contributions to guide us through new frontiers of creative exploration and experimentation. The intention of Elsewhere is to communally immerse ourselves in the vastness of the unknown, explore all that we cannot yet conceive, experiment evolutionarily, and embrace our shared consciousness to discover meaningful and impactful concepts and creations for the betterment of humanity.

■ Common Threads Quilt Show | June 21-22
Where: Century II
The Common Threads Quilt Show, hosted by The Prairie Quilt Guild, will display 450 quilts of all shapes, sizes, and designs and promises to delight quilters and wannabe quilters of all ages. A broad range of vendors are sure to add to the excitement of the show.

■ 2nd Annual Ed Gressel Memorial | June 21-22
Where: 81 Speedway
The national touring series of the United States Modified Touring Series visits 81 Speedway for two big nights featuring local and national drivers.

■ 2024 Sundance Shorts Tour | June 21
Where: Advanced Learning Library
The 2024 Short Film Tour program is a sampling of Festival offerings and a testament to the unique storytelling potential that the format holds. Audiences who missed the Sundance Film Festival can enjoy a mix of fiction, documentary, and animated shorts that are funny, sad, inspirational, and full of strong characters. Film titles: TBA These films are not rated, viewer discretion is advised. Community partners for this event include : The Tallgrass Film Association.

■ Nomar Nights | June 21
Where: Nomar District
Get ready to party at Nomar Nights! Mark your calendars for June 21st, we’re hosting a fun summer night bash at Nomar Plaza! Join us for delicious food, and enjoy some family fun, lively music, and community. This year, we’ll be adding alcohol with Xclusive Events. We’ll have food trucks, family activities, a live DJ, and a super fun summer night vibe! Be sure to stop by for our signature margarita, The Nomar-rita!🍹

Join Us Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. June through August for Haysville’s Farmers Market. Free Horserides, Live Music, Biscuits and Gravy, Facepainting, and Temporary Tattoos are weekly features. Local vendors bring a variety of produce, plants, flowers, jewelry, kid items, baked goods, and much more! Nestled in the Historic District, a short stroll will take you by the Library’s book sale, Kid’s craft events, and Historic District buildings. Vintage Days are held on 2nd Saturdays and include weekly features plus Free Wagon Rides, Live Music at the Gazebo, Free Car Show, $9 All You Can Eat Mason Breakfast, Library Book by the Bag Sale and Live Drama and Cowboy Shootouts. Located 10 minutes south of Wichita at 100 S Main St in Haysville.

■ 2024 National Junior Olympics And Summer Festival | June 22-29
Where: Century II
The National Junior Olympics will see the nation’s best up-and-coming boxers take to the ring in one of the oldest and most historic USA Boxing national tournaments that has seen numerous Olympic medalists, including 2020 Tokyo Olympic medalists Keyshawn Davis (Norfolk, Va.), Oshae Jones (Toledo, Ohio), Duke Ragan (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Richard Torrez Jr. (Tulare, Calif.), take part in on their journey to international and Olympic success. The 2024 event will serve as a kickoff to what should be a successful summer for USA Boxing, as the Olympic Games Paris 2024 will begin the following month.

■ Barkfest: Pawty in the Park | June 22

These will go quickly, so plan to arrive early to get first pick! All proceeds from the Mini Used Book Sale benefit WAM’s events and programs.
