Yesterday, we shared the news of rumors rumbling about Stoner’s Pizza Joint coming to Wichita.
Today, we can confirm those rumors with anonymous sources that the pizza chain out of Florida is indeed headed to Naftzger Park in the same building center that holds Homegrown.
Stoner’s Pizza Joint will be located at 645 E. Douglas Ave at the end of the building which gives them the ability to open up a patio as well.
Currently, I’m hearing they are aiming for a mid to late July opening.
With a name like Stoner’s Pizza, one can imagine that it’ll be a place to get some late-night eats or as some people may reefer, I mean, refer to as munchies. The plan is for later hours potentially 11 a.m. or even 2 a.m. on the weekends but it’ll all be dependent on what business looks likes once they open. If people are coming over after the bars are about to close and keeping them busy, then they’ll stay open.
If it’s your first time hearing about Stoner’s Pizza, it’s a pizza chain that was founded in Georgia in 2013 and is now based out of Florida. It has more than 50 locations across the Southeast, Texas and Colorado. This would be the first one in Kansas and there are plans for more locations in the Wichita area. Currently, the closest locations to town are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas.
The restaurant offers calzones, strombolis, wings, salads and several kinds of pizza, including Italian steak, brisket, Hawaiian, taco, buffalo chicken, and more.
And as you can guess, the theme inside the building holds numerous references to what the name of the restaurant implies.
