Wichita Jazz Festival

For more than 50 years, the Wichita Jazz Festival has been celebrating the history and legacy of jazz music while encouraging and developing the next generation of musicians. With concerts, educational opportunities and the annual festival, some of the biggest names in the genre have made their way to Wichita to pair professional players with those learning the style.

Since 1972, the Wichita Jazz Festival has brought huge names in the industry to Wichita to help build on the love for one of the oldest genres of music in the world. Today, the festival continues to celebrate the rich tradition of vocal jazz with tributes to greats like Louis Armstrong, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck and Billie Holliday.

This celebration brings in concerts dedicated to fostering great jazz in Wichita and raising the bar for the next generation of musicians. With performances by high school and college musicians, local artists and regionally and nationally-known headliners, musicians take part in master classes to further their knowledge of the jazz community. The festival offers unique opportunities to interact with world-class musicians.
