There seem to be Dollar Tree’s appearing at every corner of the city. When Earth Day comes around, it feels as though Dollar Trees are being planted all over the country.
The discount variety store featuring products for $1 has over 15,000 locations across North America. With aisles and aisles of products to choose from, it may be hard sniffing out the best deals of what to get.
So, I wanted to put together a list of what we find most valuable and useful for our family. Here’s the best things to get at Dollar Tree.
Cards
I’m not a huge card person. The thought of spending $5-10 on a card a child cannot read or bother to look at is just an odd concept. But the parents sometimes appreciate the gesture of a card, so I like to stockpile on birthday cards for 50-cents to a dollar.
Gift Bags
Just like cards, the dollar gift bags make the most sense for me. Sometimes, the moment may call for a fancy bag, but more often than not, why not just settle for a cheaper bag? My two-year-old, for instance, doesn’t need any of her aunts or uncles to spend any extra money on a nice gift bag with some licensed characters on it.
Toys for Travel
The very first time I took my daughter on a plane flight, Dollar Tree was one of my first stops. I grabbed as many dollar toys as I could. Being able to distract her with different toys was one of the few things that kept her sanity on a long plane ride.
Travel Toiletries
If you need travel-sized items, this is a great place to go. Whether its toiletries or even small packs of medicine, Dollar Tree has you covered.
Party Supplies
If we are throwing a simple little party and need some cheap table covers to place over our folding tables, Dollar Tree has all the goods for a dollar a piece. The same stuff will cost you double or triple at competing convenience and grocery stores.
Snacks for Trips
Another travel hack with kids? Load up on a variety of different snacks at the Dollar Tree.
Cool Treats
Some people aren’t aware, but Dollar Tree does have a refrigerated and frozen section. I’ve heard Dollar Tree carries dollar steaks. I haven’t been able to find one in the handful of locations I’ve been to, but they do carry some delicious popsicles.
Sunglasses
Maybe you won’t find the stylish sunglasses for yourself, but if you have a child who tries to mimic everything you do, then head over to the Dollar Tree. I wear sunglasses all the time, so my daughter think it’s a necessity to own 5 pairs. That’s when I head over to the Dollar Tree.
