Would you try Fruity Pebbles flavored syrup? That’s the exact question I asked myself on a trip to Walmart. On my first time, I said no and kept on walking. The second time around, I couldn’t resist and picked up a bottle.
The product comes from Mrs. Butterworth’s who decided to branch out and see if people would switch things up with a fruity syrup.
Walmart’s website advertises it as such:
Your favorite syrup and your favorite cereal come together for a fun-filled breakfast treat with Mrs. Butterworth’s Fruity Pebbles Flavored Pancake Syrup. Thick, rich pancake syrup with a touch of Fruity Pebbles flavor will make your breakfast favorites unforgettable. Perfect on pancakes and waffles, your family will love this tasty syrup. Serve it for birthday celebrations, weekend morning fun or anytime you’re craving a fruity flavored treat. Mrs. Butterworth’s and Fruity Pebbles: That’s a whole new level of yum!
At $2.74, I figured why not give it a go. I paired it with some Eggo waffles.
It was definitely as advertised in the fact that it tasted just like Fruity Pebbles. It was pretty sweet, thick, not too rich, but not so overpowering that it was too much. The aroma was spot on with the cereal.
After spending four decades of my life on regular maple syrup, it was just a little too sweet for me to want to continue using it on my waffles. Call me old school, but I prefer the classic kind. If anything, it was still fun to try, which is something I’m always down for.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
