On one of our Family Fun Series outings, we made our way to Goddard, KS to finally check out Creation Room. It was probably the most requested feature from readers looking for family fun things to do around town.
Creation Room is located at 124 W 2nd Ave, right off Main Street in the former First Baptist Church space.
According to their description: The space is for family recreation and social activities directed at children. The place is designed to foster independence and creative thinking at the earliest stages. Their program uses an approach that encourages active exploration and thought-provoking questions about their world. Creation Room has designed a schedule of classes that offers a diverse array of activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at every developmental stage. Our spirited classes include circle time, jump and dance, sensory art, drum circle, dance out loud to name a few.
The business has been open since September 2021. It’s a child led play place that’s probably best suited for children 0-6.
Families can pay a drop in rate of $10 a child or $15 a family, or purchase monthly memberships at $32 a family with unlimited play. Not knowing what to expect, we did a family drop in where I brought my daughter and niece and let them run loose.
The space was probably one of the largest play places I’ve seen in our family fun series. There was lots to do that hit nearly all the senses and types of activities for younger kids.

We stopped by for about an hour and a half, and there was no shortage of things to do for the girls. One moment they were playing with homemade playdough, the next they were sifting through rice, then bouncing and sliding, then sorting through shapes and toy food.
It was one of those instances, I was worried they would have a mental breakdown when I said it was time to go. They were a little hesitant, but eventually gave in, thanks to some bribery. Overall, they had a great time and the owner was very nice. If we lived closer to Creation Room, we would definitely be by more.
