Board Game Review: Tapple – “Fast Word Fun For Everyone”

Tapple

I was looking for some fun board games to play that worked well for 2 players all the way up to 8 players. After browsing around the internet, I came across Tapple. I watched a couple of videos and was instantly hooked. Because one, I love word games and two, it’s a game that worked with any number of players.

Here’s the product description for the game:

Tapple is the award-winning, fast-paced word game that gives players a rush of excitement as they race to beat the clock! Challenge friends and family to tap letters of the portable wheel as you come up with words for various categories before the ten-second timer runs out! Just say a word, beat the timer and win!

For starters, the game features a portable wheel with 20 letters.

The game is very simple.

  • Take a card from the stack which features various categories, and choose a category for the round. For example, the category could be Movies. To start a round, announce the category and tap the timer button in the center of the TAPPLE wheel. On your turn, you have 10 seconds to name an answer for the category starting with an available letter on the TAPPLE wheel.
  • Press the first letter of your answer, tap the button to reset the timer, and pass the turn. So if you said Forrest Gump for movies, you hit the Letter F. Play moves on to the next person. Letters pressed can no longer be used for the round, so the pressure mounts as letters are eliminated. Next player cannot say Fast and the Furious, but could say Land Before Time and hit the Letter L.

We played this over the weekend and had a blast. The timer is just ten seconds and it was funny to see people try to think quickly. It was funnier, when someone ahead of you used the answer you were preparing to use, then you had to think even quicker.

This was one of those fun party games for groups of people, or just as fun playing with one other person at home. It’s a fast-paced game that keeps you on your toes and was fun for all ages.

The game was also easy to store. The cards fit in the bottom of the Tapple wheel in a little container.

I purchased this game on Amazon for $19.99. If you’re interested in purchasing this game, you could use my affiliate link here.

I’ve also been on the hunt for more games that fit 2 players and more, so be sure to keep an eye out for more reviews.
