Walton’s
Over the past few years, my passion for BBQ has really grown. Trying to learn as much as I can, reading about techniques and immersing myself in all things grilling has become a really fun hobby. I’ve visited many stores around town, but one I had yet to visit was Walton’s.
Until recently, I thought they were just a small local retail store, but upon further research, they are much bigger. Even though, they have a retail front in northeast Wichita at 3635 N Comotara St., Walton’s does big business online and in the commercial space. They are a local family-owned huge supplier of meat processing equipment and seasoning. I knew they sold some meat processing equipment, but not to the extent they do. I’m talking about equipment that is in 5, maybe 6 figures.
But for little old me, I was just there for the retail space and see what kind of goodies they had on hand.
The retail store carries more than what their showroom floor holds. They have approximately 5,200 items in their massive warehouse.
Whether it’s seasonings, casings, packaging, sauces, grinders, pellets, wood, Walton’s most likely has something for you. Even by browsing their website, you could spend hours just looking through more items to collect for your growing BBQ collection.
They also carried many grills and smokers if you’re looking for your first, second, third, or even tenth one for your patio. During my visit, they had several PK Grills on sale; literally cheaper than basically any place I’ve seen in town or online.
After fighting off the urge to buy another grill for my house, as if I needed the other, I caved in. I don’t own anything portable and they had a PKGo grill for sale along with the GrillGrates. There were only a handful left, and it was a deal I couldn’t resist. Besides, Father’s Day was around the corner and this was the perfect gift (even though I was buying it for myself). I also picked up some seasonings and another jar of Bash Brothers Hawaiian Pineapple that the kids love so much.
The staff there was extremely helpful and fun to talk to. I could literally spend hours in Walton’s and just reading bottles of seasonings and such.
Walton’s is located at 3635 N Comotara St. Their store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can learn more about Walton’s on Facebook, Instagram, or on their website.

Wonderful products but a horrible company to work for. They make sure that their minority employees feel small and are not listened to. If something makes your uncomfortable, they will tell you that they will not accommodate you. Glad they’re kind to customers at least!
