Wichita State Shocker Baseball season is back this weekend.
Mother Nature has been very supportive and brought us some warm weather to give us a reason to get out of the house and watch America’s past time in one of the nicest baseball stadiums in college baseball.
By all accounts, WSU will be much improved from last season returning six starters, 15 letter winners and a Top 25 ranked recruiting class.
This is also your chance to catch the new scoreboard! According to the GoShockers site:
Shocker fans will have a bigger reason to cheer when the 2016 baseball season begins as Wichita State University has partnered with Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, to provide a new LED video display that will be top-five in all of college baseball at nearly 1,300 square feet. The board was installed in January.
The display will measure approximately 20.5 feet high by 63.5 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout to provide crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat at Eck Stadium. It features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or it can be divided into multiple windows to show a variety of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
But wait there’s more!
February is National Canned Food Month.
If you bring a non-perishable food item for the Kansas Food Bank, you will get Grandstand Admission for $1 for any game this weekend.
So for one dollar and a food donation, you get to catch a baseball game in some great weather at Eck Stadium. Best value you will find this weekend while at the same time supporting a great cause!
This is good for the entire weekend series against Northern Colorado.
The game times are:
Friday, February 19 – 3 pm
Saturday, February 20 – 2 pm
Sunday, February 21 – 1 pm
……and if you like the product you see on the field, give 978-FANS a call and purchase some season tickets! You can always check out GoSchockers.com for more information too.
