First Look at Miri’s Mini’s: a petite sweet treat in College Hill

Ever feel like one donut is way too big and wish you could order just half of one? Yeah me either, I’m a pig. But what if there was such a place where you could order little mini donuts in all sorts of different flavors? Mini donuts that were just the right bite size and sold in a quaint cute little building to match. Well Miri’s Mini’s brings that to reality with the newest donut shop in College Hill.

Located inside College Hill next door to Cero’s Candies, Miri’s Mini’s serves little mini donuts, a few other treats and drinks such as milkshakes, coffee and homemade sodas. They are open everyday at 8am for breakfast and also hope to draw the post dinner crowd from the neighboring College Hill restaurants.

The owners completely gutted the Country Bumpkins businesses that housed it before and really spruced it up, added some personality and turned it into a very charming donut shop. They did it essentially by themselves and the hard work shows. There’s so much character when you walk in and it really fits the whole feel and vibe of College Hill. People of all ages will love it here.

The mini donuts come in orders of 6, 12 or 18 of the classic flavors consisting of either powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or cocoa. If you order 12 or more, you can mix and match flavors. I went with the cinnamon sugar.

Then you can order the signature mini’s which are $3.99 for 6 mini donuts; such options include nutty butter, peaches and cream, glazed with sprinkles, among others. Knowing I would be taking these directly over to my niece and nephew, I opted for the glazed with sprinkles.

All the donuts are made on site so you don’t have to worry about freshness. This was a total impromptu visit. I didn’t even know they were open until I was randomly driving down Douglas. I made a quick stop in to take a look and ended up with twelve little mini donuts to surprise my brother’s kids with.

The kids loved the donuts. When asking my two-year old nephew for his first official review, his comments included “Yummy!” followed by dancing in circles. While I don’t have kids, I’m pretty sure that equates to a glowing review.

I had a chance to chat with one of the owners on my visit and I really appreciated his work ethic and everything he did into making this restaurant a reality. It’s something I can definitely support.

Miri’s Mini’s official grand opening is on Saturday, October 7 so definitely give these guys a try out. This is the perfect type of restaurant for College Hill and they certainly have the right clientele around them in that neighborhood.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
