Imagine my excitement when I saw in the frozen aisle at Dillon’s two different boxes: Hershey’s bites and Cinnamon Toast Crunch bites. They were both available for $3.49 each but would later see them on sale for $2.50 each (dangit!!!).
These little soft donut bites were either covered in cinnamon sugar with a sweet cinnamon filling or were chocolate donut bites with a sweet and creamy chocolate filling. The best part about this is it’s so easy to make. After opening the bag, you just pop six of them into the microwave for 30 seconds. It’s a great option for any time of day and even better option when trying to entertain my nieces or nephews.
Thirty seconds was the right amount of time. They come out extremely soft and very sticky. Best part is they tasted exactly as one would expect; a cinnamon donut and a Hershey’s donut. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch bites didn’t exactly taste like the cereal but you could kind of get the hint that’s what they were aiming for. The Hershey bites probably tasted closer to an actual Hershey chocolate.
We thought biting into each bite, there would be an oozy cinnamon or chocolate filling that bursted out but that really wasn’t the case. Upon cutting into them, there wasn’t much filling in either one. Nonetheless the kids found them both to be very delicious as probably any kid would. My niece loved the Hershey’s much more while the adults preferred the Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
For a quick snack, they did the trick. At $3.49, it was probably not worth the price tag. The sale price of $2.50 was a better value.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
