Last year, Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria opened up their private patio towards the back of the restaurant. The cozy little area added much more needed seating for the popular pizzeria. You may have seen pictures of the patio on social media especially with the big grayscale mural painted by local artist Johnny Freedom that shows the Keeper of the Plains with the Wichita flag.
They also set out some matching tables and chairs to compliment the mural and hung up some lights to make an attractive patio worth dining or even drinking at.
The best part about the patio was that it’s tucked in between two buildings so you won’t have to be baking under the hot sun on those warm summer nights. I stopped by over the weekend with a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed our time on the patio. The time was made much better by the performance of local artist Patz Ztap who played acoustic rock classics all evening. There’s a small video of him playing on Piatto’s Facebook page.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out this patio, be sure to add it to your list of summer stops. It certainly helps that their pizza is phenomenal as well.
Piatto Neapolitan Pizzeria is located at 1706 E Douglas Avenue.
How could you say no to that crust?
Happy Dining,
Eddy
