While out shopping for instant ramen noodles to cook at home, I stopped by Grace Market. If you’ve never heard of them, they are a Korean grocery store that also has a wonderful little kitchen in the back. It’s definitely worth a visit, one I’ve enjoyed countless times over the years and a member of my favorite 150 restaurants in Wichita.

While I was there, I decided to grab some takeout. I’m a huge fan of venturing out and trying everything on the menu but for this visit I opted for two of their best dishes: beef bulgogi and bibimbap.
Grace Market does it so well. We thought the bibimbap was exceptional. Hiding underneath the egg was a variety of vegetables, pickles, tofu, and meat – a rainbow of colors filled the bowl. It came with a side of steamed rice I nearly forgot about. For those new to Korean food, I always tell them Bibimbap is one of the dishes you have to order as it makes for a great introduction. The mix of different flavors all complimented each other incredibly well.
While the beef bulgogi is a much simpler dish in nature, it also has wowed us time after time. This is an even safer dish to try for people who are worrisome of new foods.
Next time, I promise to go back and give something different on the menu a go. I saw they recently introduced soups after this particular stop. On top of the great food, Grace Market has an amazing couple running the store. Every time I’ve gone in, they’ve been gracious and thankful. Not just to me but so many other customers I see walking in those doors.
Another thing worth picking up if you’re in the area is a container of kimchi to take home with you. It’s located in the refrigerated section and one of my favorite kimchis in town. And if you love ice cream, they have a huge assortment of ice cream that you can’t find in other big time grocery stores.
Here’s their menu:
Happy Dining,
