Gabby’s Peruvian Restaurant to close for good in August

It’s something they didn’t want to do but given the economic state and the coronavirus, Gabby’s Peruvian Carryout will be closing for good the second week of August. The restaurant originally opened in 2016 and moved to where they are located at now at 1002 S Seneca in 2018.

Gabby’s has been one of my favorite restaurants ever since I came across them at their old location on east Douglas. This is a huge blow to our dining scene as they offered something not often found at restaurants here.

I spoke to the owner, and they will only be open for to go orders and pick up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 12pm and 7pm. They will also take reservations for small groups only in advance.

Gabby's Peruvian
Seco De Carne: stew with beef, cilantro, spinach, potatoes, garlic, green peas and carrots

If you’ve never been to Gabby’s Peruvian Carryout, they serve many Peruvian dishes like fried tilapia, yuca, chicharron, flan and many other dishes.

I don’t ask of much here on the blog but if you could give them one last round of love and support, it’d be greatly appreciated. Gabby’s deserves a warm send-off for putting out great food in our community for many years.

Happy Dining,
Eddy

  1. What a disappointment, but understandable at the same time, given how tough it is for restaurants now. At least we’re getting a few weeks notice so we can get a couple more orders to go…
