For the first time in over 100 years, the Kansas State Fair will be canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Kansas State Fair board met Monday morning to vote on the event’s future after many vendors pulled out of the event. Surrounding states have been canceling their state fairs so it looked as though it was only a matter of time before that decision made its way towards Kansas.

This is a big blow to the Hutchinson community as it brought a huge economic boost to nearby businesses.

No word yet on if any virtual event of any sorts will be planned.

As of now, it looks like a Wichita By E.B. Day of Dining will be in my future to help do my part to help those local businesses.
