It’s time to move on to the next Most Liked tournament bracket. With many pitmasters, grill masters, self-proclaimed BBQ chefs and hobby grillers, I wanted to end the summer on a genre of food that is always a hot topic of debate. For our next social voting, we are going with Wichita’s Most Liked BBQ!
The tournament bracket includes 24 dedicated BBQ restaurants and food trucks in the Wichita area. These are places that specialize in primarily BBQ and can be found in Wichita or within a mile or two outside the city. While it features a couple of chains to fill out the 24, this list covers essentially all the local players in the Wichita BBQ game.
The point of this whole bracket is three-fold:
- Introduce you all to the incredible number of options many of you may have never heard of.
- Use this platform of Wichita By E.B. to help give some exposure to places that rarely get love elsewhere.
- Have a little fun in the name of BBQ.
REMEMBER, the results of this post don’t necessarily mean they are the best BBQ but more of which place has the most online support thus Most Liked. Don’t treat it like gospel and certainly do not cry to me if your favorite place doesn’t win. This all comes down to social media support on Facebook and Twitter where the voting will be held. In the end, I hope you can find some new BBQ options you may have never heard of or tried! And just like the previous bracket, I will not be voting in any bracket. This will be left strictly to the general audience. I’m going to sit back, watch the online trolls, watch the debate and let you guys do the work.
I do have ONE REQUEST. When you vote, ask yourself if you’re voting for what you truly feel is the BEST BBQ. Please try to set aside the bias and vote on quality of the BBQ. Obviously, there is no way to regulate and it’ll mostly fall on deaf ears it but I just wanted to throw that out there.
Starting today, you will find a poll featuring matchups on the Wichita By E.B. Facebook page and our Twitter to vote for your favorite.
Ideally I would have liked an even 32 places but there weren’t enough dedicated BBQ options to fill up the bracket. I had a set radius of town I wanted to cover and keep it strictly to the same or similar style of BBQ. Since I couldn’t fill up 32, some places received first round byes and I determined those strictly by popularity when asking for BBQ suggestions.
So with that said, here’s the unveiling of the bracket.
