Locally owned Hawaiian restaurant becomes latest casualty of COVID-19

Some bad news came Tuesday evening when the Hawaiian restaurant on east Central, Mo’s Hut, announced they would be closing.

The COVID-19 season has brought on so many difficulties in our restaurant industry. Between that and a financial dispute stated in their announcement, Mo’s Hut made the tough decision to close.

Mo’s Hut started off as a food truck almost a handful of years ago. They then opened up their restaurant on east Central early in 2019. No word yet on whether they will return in the future with a food truck but I sure do hope so. Owner, Shawn Gordon, is incredibly talented and I hope all that doesn’t go to waste in our food scene.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
