Have you ever heard of Pinole Blue? Soon you and the world will as they are set to appear on the hit ABC TV show, Shark Tank. Pinole Blue is a locally owned food product company that specializes in organic blue corn tortillas. Their products can be found all over the country, including many restaurants in Wichita.
Founded by Eddie Sandoval, the business was launched thanks in part to a $10,000 prize he won from a Shocker New Venture Competition put on by Wichita State University. The storefront opened in 2019 and the business is also run by his partner, Kyle Offutt.
O top of their trademark blue corn tortillas, they also sell cookies, Atole, tamales, energy bites, that are all made from their blue corn.
The appearance on Shark Tank is huge for any business. In it, budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition by presenting their ideas and businesses to sharks in the tank, a.k.a. five titans of industry who made their own dreams a reality and turned their ideas into lucrative empires. The contestants try to convince any one of the sharks to invest money in their idea.
Pinole Blue’s episode will air Friday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. CT.
