Food trucks are returning to the former downtown pop-up park this week

Food trucks are returning to the former downtown pop-up park. The ICT Pop-Up Urban Park used to have food trucks over lunch. It brought good crowds and life to an area that needed it. Unfortunately, the park closed in August 2020.

The space at 121 E. Douglas was reimagined as Chainlink Gallery Place, an experiential space meant to serve as an oasis for creative activity located in the heart of downtown Wichita. They have a community mural wall, rock painting, big outdoor games, markets, art shows and live music.

Starting April 11, Chainlink Gallery Place will be open for lunch Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

For the first week, Osakaeki ICT serving Japanese street food and Taqueria El Vago’s Authentic Mexican Food Truck will be on hand all week long. Go enjoy some great food, paint on the Community Mural Wall, have a midday swing on their swing set that kinetically powers a chicken sculpture or play some ping pong.

More information can be found on their Facebook page.
