I made my way out to Derby, KS to check out a buffet I haven’t been to in quite some time; Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant. They offer a regular lunch buffet that is $9.25 (which includes tax).

Compared to the other Chinese buffets in the Wichita area, Good Fortune has the smallest selection to choose from.
Here’s a look at their buffet stations:
They had the usual suspects like beef broccoli, general chicken, kung pao chicken, egg drop and hot & sour soup, egg rolls, lo mein and fried and white rice.
I tried bits and pieces of everything from the buffet. To be honest, nothing was all that great. Most of the food didn’t have much seasoning, butter, spices, or anything. For $9 and change, I felt like I received my money’s worth and it was all fine, but nothing worth going out of my way for.
If I had to pick one favorite from the buffet, it’d probably be the beef broccoli. But then again, that’s a hard dish to really mess up and I probably have had the same satisfaction with the beef broccoli at Dillons.
The service was pretty much nil that day. They never came back to check on me or refill my drink. I even had to go up to ask for my ticket and pay.
