Let’s talk tacos for a moment. If you’ve been reading this blog or following the various online restaurant groups, there’s always the same cast of characters when discussing the best tacos. One place you don’t hear about much but very deserving of being in the conversation is Mi Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant at 2120 N. Broadway. This is one place all taco aficionados should add to their list stat.

My first time at Mi Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant was a few years ago and I fell in love with their tacos on that visit. I was happy to be back and ready to chow down on some tacos. Keep in mind, this is one of the handful of Mexican restaurants in town that are closed on both Monday and Tuesday so plan accordingly.
On my most recent visit, I went with costilla (ribs), maciza (shoulder) mixed with cuerito (pork skin), buche, carnitas and asada. Here’s a look at some of the tacos.
When placing my order, I asked my server to literally throw any suggestion my way as I was completely open to anything. I’ve never had maciza with cuerito before so this was a true treat for someone always on the hunt for different foods. It was so delightful and tasty. The maciza was very soft and tender but the cuerito helped give the tacos a crunchier texture. There was a rich stewed flavor to them that tickled my taste buds. I don’t want to take anything away from the other tacos as they truly were all delicious. Everything from the buche and asada were homeruns in my book.
The tacos came with onions and cilantro on the side. A big sticking point to some taco fans is the amount of they put on so at Mi Lindo, it’s up to you how much you want. Please note, there’s not much room for it as they stuff their tacos with tons of meat.
Lastly, I wanted to comment on the staff there. It’s a local family-owned restaurant and it certainly had the feel of it. Everyone there was so happy, friendly and welcoming. It was as if you were eating at their home; that’s how people were being treated when I walked in.

Happy Dining,
