First Look at Dirty D’s

I have a question for you all. “Do you know my boy, D?”

If you’re asking “D who?” the immature version of myself would probably reply with something out of line. But since I’m a mature blogger now, my answer is Dirty D’s. It’s a new bar that recently opened at 1110 W. Harry St.

If you’re a fan of southside bars, chances are you’ve been in this building. It’s been home to plenty of watering holes like Forge, Cross Eyed Cricket Tavern, Nikki’s Pub, Duke’s Bar & Grill, Sporting Casey’s, to name a handful of them.

Now it’s Dirty D’s and the bar celebrated their grand opening a couple of weeks ago. It’s no secret I have an admiration and love of frequenting bars south of Kellogg, so I stopped by one weekend to briefly check it out.

For entertainment, they had a couple of pool tables, a foosball table and a DJ booth set up in the corner. A covered patio sat on the south end of the building.

There was a food menu of bar basics like nachos, burgers, and wings, but I was drinking my dinner that evening and opted out of the food. Rumor has it though, some of the food found at the now closed Magoo’s Bar & Grill that used to be at 2304 Oliver may find its way to Dirty D’s. If that’s the case, I’ll be returning sooner than later.

Otherwise, this was a cool little spot. Truth be told, we were bar hopping and didn’t spend too much time there, but I just wanted to pop in to check out the new digs.

Lastly, I did run into some readers who introduced themselves to me. I wrote their names down so I wouldn’t forget because I wanted to give them a shout-out along with a public thank you for the shot….. I’m such a sucker for shots.
