One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in all of Wichita, Thao’s Bistro, closed in 2021. They tried to stay open by searching for a buyer, but eventually were forced to close due to health reasons.
After they closed, rumors floated around over the past year that they would potentially reopen. A source told me that it was almost a done deal last month. It was a rumor I haven’t been able to confirm with the owners.
Then out of nowhere, on Good Friday, they announced on Facebook that they are finally re-opening at the same location of 1825 S. Broadway.
The big day is Friday, April 21. Their new hours will be Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. That just happens to be my birthday weekend so it looks like I know where my birthday celebration meal will be. With new hours also comes a new phone number, which is 316-358-9640.
