Announcing part two of the Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series: FioRito Ristorante

Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series - Fiorito Ristorante

The first Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series sold out in minutes last month and judging from the feedback from attendees, it was a great time at Station 8 BBQ.

This dinner series is something I’ve long wanted to do, where we enjoy a meal prepared by the owners and chefs. We don’t get a say in anything; we come in and enjoy a blind course. Having an open mind and appetite always helps. During the first dinner series, I was able to share a meal with 20+ readers. We discussed our favorite restaurants, places worth checking out, and even shared tidbits about our life. It was a cool, personal, intimate time. Connecting with readers on that level was probably the best part. Having writing about my life for a dozen years, it was nice to hear about the people who have been reading my stuff.

So without further ado, I’d like to share details about part two of the Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series. If you can get tickets, mark your calendar down for June 5 at 6:30 p.m. when we pick it back up at FioRito Ristorante (Facebook). The Italian restaurant at 3134 E. Douglas has agreed to work up some magic for readers. I recently met with the owners and brothers, Jason and Jordan Rickard, and while I can’t speak directly for them, I’d say they are excited.

Soon, I hope to share some news on another business who will be part of this dinner collaboration.

What are the deets?

It’s going to take place on a Monday evening, June 5 at 6:30 p.m. We are working on seating, but right now, roughly 26 tickets will be available.

How can someone purchase tickets?

I was trying to think of the fairest way to do tickets and first come, first served was the only thing that came to mind that gave everyone an equal chance. A link to purchase tickets will be released in our newsletter to our email subscribers on Monday, May 15 at 7 a.m. Once the tickets sell out, they’re gone. If they don’t by the first day, a link will be shared on our social pages. #FingersCrossed. You can subscribe to the newsletter here.

The cost of the dinner series

Truth be told, this won’t be a cheap night. On top of that, FioRito Ristorante is typically closed on Monday and they’ve agreed to open on their day off so I want to make sure the staff is compensated appropriately. Just like the Dinner Series at Station 8 BBQ, I’ll be on hand as a server and all tips will go back to the staff. I just want to make sure everyone has a good time and the staff feels like it was worth their time.

I feel it’s important to be transparent, and I’m sure people are wondering if I profit off these dinners. The answer is no. These dinners are 100% done to support the restaurant and get them new diners. Out of the ticket costs, the only money held back is to cover merch given to the diners. I accept zero money, zero tips, give up my time, serve, and give every dollar back to the restaurant.

With that said, the cost of the dinner is $90 + whatever site fees there are.

What else to expect

This is more than just a dinner. Hopefully, it will be an experience. You will come, make new friends, have a little Q&A with myself and the Rickard brothers, enjoy some delicious food, get some merch, be around other foodies and have a cool night to talk about.

My end goal is to grub with people who love food as much as I do. So, let’s have fun conversations over some drinks. The first dinner was a blast hanging out with readers and I’m betting this second one will be just as fun.

One of my life mottos is to live for the moments and have fun. That’s what the purpose of this night will be.

And if you can’t make this one, I’m sorry. But there is a third installment in the works with another restaurant I’m hoping to nail down a date with soon.

Make sure to get signed up for the newsletter. Stay tuned for more!
