What are your plans this weekend? There’s a free to attend event taking place at The Wichita Boathouse on Saturday, May 13th called Tacos and Tequila. The event, which is in its third year, runs from noon to 9 p.m.
At Tacos and Tequila, you’ll be able to find it all. Over 16 local taco trucks and vendors will be on hand selling Mexican cuisine. This might as well be a Taco Food Truck Rally! And with a name like Tacos and Tequila, you can expect to find the drinks thanks to Xclusive Booze Truck. They will have tequila, margaritas, specialty drinks and a full bar.
Live music will be provided by Sociedad Sierrena from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and then cultural dancers with Ballet Folklorico Mexico En El Corazion between 5 and 6 p.m.
The fun doesn’t end there, contests and games start a 6 p.m. with a hot pepper eating contest and musical chairs. If you have any friends who think they can handle the heat, make sure they are there.
Lastly, for those who want to turn it up a notch, check out the VIP Tequila Tasting that goes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The ticketed area features over 40 different premium tequila and specialty drinks. The VIP tasting requires a ticket and gets you 8 shots/samples of the premium tequilas and specialty drinks along with a Tacos and Tequila shot glass.
Tickets for the VIP Tequila Tasting are $40 and can be purchased on the Tacos and Tequila website or at the door. Remember, though, tickets are not required for any other part of the event. It’s free to attend!
