Two more restaurants announce closures in June

Filemons Mexican Food

Two restaurants have made the decision to close this month.

The first is Filemon’s Mexican Food, who opened at the start of the year. The restaurant was located at 3802 E. Harry in the former Next Level Cafe and Sorrel’s Jamaican Food space. The Mexican restaurant featured many mainstream dishes such as quesadillas, tostadas, tacos, nachos and more.

It was a brief run for a restaurant who faced heavy competition in a city full of similar options. No reason was given for the closure.

Want Bierock

Next up is Want Bierock Company and Coffee House. The cafe which originally opened in 2018, had a change in ownership a couple of years ago, and announced their closing Monday in a Facebook post.

The two food trucks, which are separately owned and operated, will still continue to run. You can follow those trucks on their Facebook page.  They are generally found at the local farmers markets around town.
