Waffles N Stuff to offer Spirit machinists on strike a free meal

The big news around Wichita is the machinist strike at Spirit AeroSystems. When things aren’t going well, it’s always the local restaurant scene to be one of the first to step up.

Waffles N Stuff, a relatively new food truck specializing in zany waffle creations, is working out details to bring their truck out as a mid-week boost to morale.

They are currently working out times and details with the 2nd and 3rd shift organizers to offer food at no charge to help support the cause. The owner of the truck is one of those on strike and has already brought out 40–50 cases of water to all the gates. Now they will one-up that with food.

• Pink Elephant Games & Cafe (2431 W. Pawnee) who is offering 25% off all food to IAM members and their family.
• Kim’s Noodles Bar & Grill (10919 E. Harry St.) will be giving a 20% discount on all purchases to Spirit Employees with the blue badge.
• Cofellow Coffee Parlor (107. Main St, Goddard) is offering Buy 1 Get 1 on any drink from Monday through Friday this week with badge.
• Rice & Roll by Xing Xing (1920 E. Pawnee St.) is offering 30% off to employees with the “Blue Badge”
• Pho KC (4875 E. Pawnee) is offering 30% off to employees with the “Blue Badge”
• Pete’s Donut Shack (food truck) will be giving free donuts to the strikers on Thursday, June 29 at 3917 E. MacArthur Road. Be sure to follow them on Facebook to find out the released times.
