Orie’s Garlic Fest returns to Public at the Brickyard on September 10

Orie's Farm Fresh

It’s time to save the date of Sunday, September 10 for one of my favorite annual food festivals in town, Orie’s Garlic Fest. The event celebrates all things garlic — with ready-to-eat garlicky grub, garlic beverages, garlic salts, seasonings, baked goods, honeys, jams, and more!

The huge festival, which takes place inside and outside of Public at the Brickyard at 129 N. Rock Island, highlights the many facets of Wichita’s local scene: artisans, makers, farmers and ranchers, musicians, and foodies of all kinds. Let’s not forget the garlic! It’s where you’ll find the widest variety of premium grade, organically grown garlic bulbs for culinary use or fall planting.

This year, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to attend.

I’ve been to the last few Garlic Fests, even dating back to when it used to be at Eberly Farm. Let me tell you, it’s loads of fun. And for those of love to shop, it’s like a big farmer’s market for all things garlic.
