First Look at Walker’s Jazz Lounge; Old Town’s newest music venue and bar

Looking for something to do in Old Town that’s a bit more chill? Walker’s Jazz Lounge has officially opened at 252 N. Mosley in the former Oasis staffing space. Most people would probably recognize the address as immediately east of the Pumphouse on Mosley.

This should be a a cool new venue for Wichita, especially for those who have had a hard time finding live jazz.

There’s a decent amount of seating available, with four tops taking up most of the floor space.

But if you have a small group of people or a private party, there are two sectioned off areas to accommodate that.

The menu features cocktails, beers, and wine and a very limited selection of food. If you’re hungry, they have seasonal charcuterie and hummus boards.

I dropped by Walker’s Jazz Lounge with friends and really enjoyed the more chill and mellow vibe, which is remotely different from many other drinking establishments downtown. And that’s not a good or bad thing, it just comes down to personal preference on what kind of scene you’re looking for.

The cocktails were also very tasty. We tried different libations such as the Manhattan, their take on an old-fashioned, and the mojito; all excellent choices.

Walker’s Jazz Lounge will also have live jazz music most days of the week they are open. For a listing of their live shows, be sure to check out our live music calendar.
