My brother loves barbecue. Working in the medical field and in the off hours, sometimes it’s hard for him to head over to the more popular barbecue restaurants in town. He was happy to hear there was a new one opening up in east Wichita with better availability to fit his schedule.

This franchise has two locations in Wichita. One on the east side and the other on the west side. Nobody in my family has ever been before so we stopped by the new east side location the other week to give it a try.
The menu is pretty similar to other barbecue stops in town. There’s brisket, ribs, turkey, pulled pork, chicken, you name it. They have one meat, two meat, and three meat plate options. If you’ve ever been to a barbecue restaurant, it’s like riding a bicycle when you order. The prices are all on par with the competition in town as well.
We ordered an array of meat options and sides from their menu to get a good variety of what they had.
Let us just cut to the chase. The meals were subpar. Outside of the turkey, everybody had a “meh” type of feeling once they were done eating. While it wasn’t horrible, it doesn’t stack up to other offerings in town like Delano, Pig In Pig Out, or B&C.
The portion sizes were smaller than we had hoped for, The meat was flavorless with the sauce. Speaking of sauces, the sweet was like pure brown sugar. The sides were all pretty basic with the best probably being jalapeno beans; a nice zingy bite to it.
The staff on hand was great but the food wasn’t enough to warrant a return visit from us. Looks like my brother will have to wait for a day off if he wants to really good barbecue in town.
