Indian options in town are pretty limited especially when you compare it to other food genres in town. We’ve been to I believe all of them and with a new one that opened recently in Wichita, that meant another food review.
This time it’s New Paradise Biryani Pointe.
1648 S Rock Road
Wichita, KS 67207
Tuesday – Sunday: 11am – 3pm, 5pm – 10pm
Buffet is from 11am – 2pm
New Paradise Biryani Pointe Indian Cuisine replaces the old Pirate Pete’s Seafood
which I was sad to see close down. The restaurant is very tiny and fits around 16 people. They have a pretty expansive Indian menu but for this visit, we tried out their lunch buffet.
The buffet is $11.99 on weekdays and $12.99 on weekends.
Many traditional Indian items like Chicken Biryani, Egg Curry, Naan, Bindi Curry, Dal, Samiya, Batura, Paneer Tika Masala, and Goat Curry can be found on the buffet line. I must say, the Goat Curry was excellent. It was my first time trying it and I loved it. My friend stuck with the rice and chicken options to play it safe and liked what she had.
Then there was this:
Above is a type of Indian salad. Don’t let the texture or look turn you away. It was amazing. I was told the name of this dish two times and forgot to write it down. He basically told me it was an Indian appetizer similar to a salad but had a spicy kick. The salad was creamy in texture but also had a nice bite. We both had this a few times.
While the both of us are no food experts when it comes to Indian cuisines we enjoyed our lunch and would go back again. The owner was extremely pleasant and grateful for our visit.
This is a great addition to the south side of town which already lacks Indian options. We give this our recommendation.
