The popular south Seneca bar, Whiskey Dicks, has a January burger of the month that burger aficionados need to try. It’s their S’More burger.
Their S’More burger is a 1/3lb hand formed house burger topped with marshmallow, dark chocolate and graham crackers. The burger costs $8.99 except on Wednesdays when it’s 1/2 price. It also comes with a side of fries. As a sidenote on my most recent visit, my friend had their Cajun seasoned fries and called them the best fries she’s had in town. For what it’s worth, she loves her fries and knows what she’s talking about.
I was really surprised how good the combination of everything with the burger tasted. For someone who never orders cheeseburgers, the marshmallow was quite the compliment and a unique alternative to cheese. The chocolate is definitely visible on the burger but surprisingly subtle as you start to eat everything. The graham crackers did a great job of taking away from the extreme chocolate taste and adding a nice texture to it.
I’m sure it’s one of those burgers at first glance everybody is thinking “WTF?” or “Gross” but gross it is not. If you’re adventurous, this is certainly worth a shot. If anything, you get some great fries to go along with it.
