Who doesn’t love new items on a menu? It’s always great to see restaurant add new things to keep it fresh. Augustino Brewing Company which opened late last year will soon be adding new items to their menu and we had a chance to stop by and get a sneak peek at what’s to come at the west side brewery and restaurant.

For our visit to Augustino Brewing Company we were introduced to three items that will be coming later this month to the menu. The kitchen staff is currently working to perfect these dishes so make sure to follow Augustino Brewing Company on Facebook to stay up to date on when these items will arrive.
The first item just might be the best of all the items we tried. It was seared yellowtail tuna which sat on a small layer of some sort of honey/BBQ glaze and some of the hottest wasabi sauce you’ll ever try. Seriously, I love wasabi and had a small bit of it and it killed any allergies I had that day. The yellowtail was cooked perfectly making it tender and raw enough to melt in your mouth. The little glaze that sat underneath it might have been one of the best sauces I’ve tried. We are hoping they include more of it on the final version of the dish.
Next up was the calamari salad with an Asian vinaigrette. The calamari was lightly breaded and the picture doesn’t do the size of the dish justice. It’s huge and big enough for two people. The salad wasn’t swimming in Asian vinaigrette which was great. The right amount was placed on there to compliment the salad and calamari.
Finally mussels in red sauce was the final dish we were introduced to. This was very close to being my favorite dish of the day. The red sauce had little chili flakes to provide enough kick to where you needed a glass of water. The mussels were of great quality and when dipped in with the sauce, it made for a delicious combination. This dish was split between the three of us and would be a great appetizer for anybody looking to stray away from your typical fried items.
The dishes were all delicious and if it was any indicator of what type of improvements were coming to Augustino Brewing Company’s menu, there will be plenty of happy faces.
And of course we couldn’t leave without trying their brisket nachos. Their house made tortilla chips topped with smoked brisket, black beans, cheddar/jack blend, Brewmaster’s Fondue, BBQ sauce and IPA sour cream. Then it’s topped with pico, cilantro, green onions and fire roasted salsa. Wichita Nacho Review gave them five stars and we couldn’t agree more. This is big enough to cover for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
So stay tuned to Augustino Brewing Company, delicious changes are coming your way later this month.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
