We’ve covered the pickleball portion of Chicken N Pickle which was a blast. Next step in checking the entire entertainment center was to try the food. At the beginning of the month, they celebrated their grand opening and opened up their entire menu. We wanted to stop by and check that out.

From the munchies menu, we started off with some chorizo fondue which was basically cheese dip with chorizo mixed in with it. My brothers enjoyed it. The liked the chips and felt they held up well with the dip; they weren’t your cheap corn chips that fell apart quickly. We also went with five wings and the southwest seasoning. The meat on the wings was juicy but the southwest seasoning left much to be desired; just fell a little flat with our taste buds.
For dinner, we ordered the burnt ends on mac n’ cheese with a side of spicy slaw and the chicken n pickle. Because how do you go to Chicken N Pickle and not order their namesake meal?
My brother really loved the burnt ends. He’s a huge fan of burnt ends and likes to travel around town getting his hands on them anywhere he can. The bed of mac n cheese was also surprisingly very cheesy which was a good thing. Often times, you’ll find dry versions that don’t hold up well. As for the spicy slaw, he thought it was good but the larger cuts of red onions were a bit unnecessary for his taste. There was certainly a good kick of spiciness at the end of each bite though from the serrano peppers in it. As for the chicken, it was moist and flavorful as advertised by the staff that day. The jerk seasoning on the chicken was delicious yet very salty so that’s something to keep in mind.
Overall we were impressed with the food on the first visit and will have to return to try other items like the ribs.
It was a positive visit all around. The food was out in a timely manner. They had staff walking around checking on everyone and cleaning tables as they became open. It was a good sign for a place that will likely see an uptick in business as the warmer weather approaches.
We will admit the biggest deterrent for future visits is price. The menu items are on the steeper side compared to the competition around town. Perhaps they are banking on the area of town but that’s really going to prevent many families from frequenting Chicken N Pickle often.
Here’s their menu:
