Another Friday marks another day when restaurants will be promoting their meat-free options for Lent observers. For this week’s Lent visit, I swung over to Roxie’s on the River located in Farm Credit Bank Building. They had fish tacos on special and since I was in the area, I figured why not!
Their fish tacos were $6 and change for three.
I get it, every place has fish tacos. So why go here? For starters, I appreciated that they were cooked on the spot and came out fresh. The tacos were topped with a hot homemade salsa and some sort of creamy aioli sauce along with tomatoes that gave it a nice zesty bite. The breading was very light which made the tacos feel not so heavy as a meal. After three, I was more than satisfied.
People are always wondering where to go on Fridays so here’s another option for those inquirers especially ones in the downtown area.
