Lent Options: Lemon Pepper Shrimp Pizza at Wichita Brewing Co & Pizzeria

Another Friday marks another day when restaurants will be promoting their meat-free options for Lent observers. During this time, I hope to get out and try many of these specials that restaurants are putting out. The most recent visit took me to Wichita Brewing Co & Pizzeria.

I always try to tell restaurants, one of the easiest ways to lure in customers is posting delicious looking photos on social media. Often times diners will choose what they want to eat with their eyes.

WBC posted about their Lemon Pepper Shrimp Pizza which was a lemon pepper cream cheese base topped with seasoned shrimp, mozzarella, garlic, and basil. The picture looked great so I swung in to get Lent-fix in.

The Lemon Pepper Shrimp Pizza was available for $12.50. It didn’t take long to get it and at first glance the online post of the picture looked more appetizing than what I received.

I really did enjoy the crust. The lemon pepper cream did make for a drier base so to speak so if you’re big on heavy sauce on pizzas that is something to note. While I loved the seasoned shrimp, my biggest gripe was there wasn’t much of it. There were at least three slices where there were 1 piece of shrimp or less. It was like I was just eating a lemon pepper pizza where shrimp just happened to be placed on some slices. The distribution was horrible. You would think the shrimp would have been the star of the show but alas it wasn’t.

Overall it was pretty disappointing.

What else should I try over the next 40 days? Let’s see your suggestions in the comments below.
