Our latest review took us to another bar and grill in Derby, KS. We decided to meet up with some friends at Madrocks Sports Bar & Grill for drinks and eats…. and of course get a review in.

Our dinner with friends began with their nachos along with the Bavarian pretzel sticks. Nobody was too fond of the nachos, they came out instantaneously soggy and felt bland to everyone. There wasn’t much going on with it and perhaps ordering the brisket nachos would have been a better option. On the bright side though, people were very pleased with the pretzel sticks noting how soft it was and even better once dipped in the hot mustard sauce.
For dinner, we had a meatza pizza and their southwest burger.
The pizza wasn’t exactly loaded with toppings or all that filling. It just felt like a lazily put together pizza that wasn’t all too appealing. Probably the best part of it was the thing was the crisp thin crust.
As for the burger, the butter toasted bread was a big plus and the fries had a salty seasoning to it that everyone enjoyed with their beer. The burger itself wasn’t anything too special or memorable. The patty was rather dry and nearly masked by the BBQ sauce.
On a positive note, our drinks were cold and the service was quick and friendly. It was nice to get out of the house with friends. Going back isn’t out of the realm of possibility but it probably wouldn’t be for the food.

I somewhat agree with your review. I and my wife went numerous times to eat and we’d sit down just to be ignored by the staff at the back just sitting there babbling at one another. We actually left on three occasions because of that alone. The food is lousy. The drinks are good.
