N & J Cafe charity event sells out of food in seven hours

N&J Cafe

On Saturday, N & J Cafe had an event where 100% of proceeds went to the Lebanese Red Cross. It was their way of giving back to the world after the huge blast in Beirut killed hundreds and wounded thousands. The money went to help provide food, medicine and housing to those affected in Lebanon.

The story spread all over and was picked up by most media outlets. As word continued to spread, people were quick to hop and help support. Even Tanya’s Soup Kitchen joined in and donated 20% of sales on Saturday to the cause.

N & J Cafe located at 5600 E Lincoln was packed even before the start of the event at 11am. Some people waited an hour or longer for their food but did not mind at all knowing it was all for a good cause; lots of patience and love on display Saturday.

The charity dining event was supposed to take place all day from 11am to 9pm but after seven hours, they had to call it quits. N & J Cafe was forced to close at 6pm as they sold out. They do not have a total yet of what was raised but will post that once they tally all the sales and additional donations given.

Kudos to not just the restaurants but to everybody who showed up to support.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
