The motto “…it’s just a bar” fits the place so well. Peerless is just a bar located in downtown Wichita at 919 E. Douglas Avenue.

The allure of Peerless lies inside where they bring the dive bar appeal to an area of town that doesn’t really have a dive bar vibe to it. Once you step inside, you’ll find a narrow space with a sea of bricks on either side that are adorned by local art you can purchase. In between those walls, there’s ample seating, a couple of pool tables, a long bar, a ping pong table, a Golden Tee machine and a dartboard.

There isn’t much to Peerless, but that’s one of the draws to the bar. They are a no frills, all chill place to hang out and grab a drink. There’s absolutely nothing pretentious about it. You walk in, don’t give a care in the world as to what you’re wearing or what you look like.
