One of the ice cream shops that’s in our regular rotation for cold treats is Churn & Burn. With two locations, they are a one-of-a-kind ice cream and coffee shop. Serving handcrafted ice creams is part of the experience, but the other part is watching them combine ice cream and espresso drinks using liquid nitrogen technology at -320 degrees to concoct more delicious treats. It’s one of my go-to’s in town and one that was worth revisiting for the blog.

For this review, we stopped by their south Oliver location. It’s one of the few places in town to experience some Joyland nostalgia.
They had quite a selection of handcrafted ice creams that the kids spent hours (probably a bit of an exaggeration) trying to choose from.
These cups were empty in minutes.
I went for one of their Churn & Burn creations. They are all fantastic as I’ve tried them all but for this particular visit, I went with the Salted Caramel which was their vanilla ice cream, espresso, salted caramel chunks and caramel sauce. My other favorite is the tiramisu option.
The Salted Caramel was delicious as always. There was a nice salted caramel flavor blended with a hint of espresso that didn’t overpower which was great for someone like me who doesn’t necessarily drink espresso. It was creamy yet smooth. If they were located in my backyard, I’d drink one every day.
Churn & Burn is easily one of the top three favorite ice cream shops for our family.
