With summer coming to a close, I had to stop by and visit the only shaved ice stand I have yet to try. It’s the new Frost Bites stand who opened earlier this summer at the southeast corner of Kellogg and Rock Road.

Some people may remember Rockin’ Rico’s Sno-Balls that operated in that corner right by the Mattress Firm location. Frost Bites has taken over and is this summer’s spot for shaved ice at Kellogg and Rock Road.
I swung by during the stretch of 90+ degree weather to grab a Root Beer shaved ice. I had a regular 16oz one topped with sweet cream topping, which I feel is always a must on shaved ice. The 16oz was probably the perfect size for 2 people, but since it was just me I fought through the brain freezes to knock it all out.
The shaved ice was very fluffy and there was no shortage of root beer flavoring and sweet cream topping. There wasn’t a single bite that was bare ice.
It’s hard to mess this up. As long as the ice is nice and soft and they are generous with the flavors, it’s all good. You can’t go wrong with Frost Bites.
