When it comes to restaurants, I’m not quite sure anybody brings the relaxing charm to Andover like The Rusted Rooster. The coffee shop and cafe at 837 N. Andover Road, also serves as a vintage retail shop. But for the purpose of my most recent stop, I was looking for a quick lunch while running errands in Andover.
837 N Andover Road, Andover, KS 67002
Tuesday – Friday: 7am – 4pm
Saturday – Sunday: 8am – 3pm
The Rusted Rooster serves all day breakfast, soups, salads, wraps, and paninis. They also have a full line of hot and cold drinks to help you get through the day.
I had the chai tea latte, the Big P which was pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasonings, and pasta sauce along with a cup of cheesy potato soup.
The Rusted Rooster did a phenomenal job of replicating the flavors from a pepperoni pizza into a panini. When it comes to a panini, they certainly do it better than 99% of the restaurants in town. Their bread was toasted to perfection to offer a crispy bite but somehow maintaining the softness of the bread. It was like magic. The classic flavors I was expecting were all there and paired quite well with my chai tea latte; so much warmth in one meal. But it all got better, especially with the soup (pictured in the mug) that had nice chunks of potatoes in a very creamy soup.
This was coffee shop food at its finest, and I was loving every bite of it.
It’s probably no secret to Andover, but the Rusted Rooster is a fine addition to the city. Good food and drink matched up with quality, friendly, happy customer service is the recipe for success and they got it.
