A new food truck has opened outside of Puerto El Triunfo at 1714 E. Northern St. It’s called Raspados Y Mas and they celebrated their opening on Wednesday. They serve a variety of cold and warm treats that can easily be eaten on the go.

I wasn’t sure what to get, so I asked the gentleman working the truck for suggestions. One of the treats he recommended was Fresas Con Crema. I believe he said it was a cup filled with milk, vanilla, crema, strawberries and crunched up crackers. Since I love mango, the mangoneadas caught my eye. It was basically mango, ice, and chamoy.
The Fresas Con Crema wasn’t necessarily my thing. It had a very watered down texture (that you’ll be able to see in the accompanied video). You may like it, but it just didn’t resonate with me. The mangoneadas, on the other hand, was excellent. The mix of mango and chamoy was near perfection. My only gripe was the ice wasn’t crushed all the way, which caused some sips to have big chunks of ice.
I really enjoyed the staff at Raspados Y Mas. They helped me get a better understanding of everything on the menu, which made my life easier trying to determine what to get. I’m in the area sporadically, so would definitely go back to try other cool treats they have.
