Let’s review Noodles & Company!
Started in 1995, the fast-casual dining concept centers around international noodle and pasta dishes from mac ‘n’ cheese to pad Thai. There was at one time two locations in Wichita, which dropped to one, but earlier this year a second store opened in west Wichita.
The west side Noodles & Company is at 3807 N. Maize Road. We decided to drop by and check out the national chain’s newest location.
Noodles and pasta dishes from all over the world can be found on their menu. I’m such a sucker for Asian-inspired dishes and went with the spicy Korean beef noodles, while my daughter went with the cheesy garlic bread.
We had our order to go and stopped by a friend’s house who lived about 5 minutes away, so it wasn’t that far of a travel for the food.
I say that because when we finally started eating, my daughter didn’t bother with the bread. It was really hard and tough for her to bite into. She looked at me and said, “I don’t like it.” Thinking she might be dramatic, I took a bite and could confirm it was some of the hardest bread I’ve ever had from a restaurant. We ended up tossing everything in the trash.
The noodles were also a disappointment, unfortunately. The texture was very mushy, with many of the noodles sticking together. My beef was tough. I did enjoy the flavor of the sauce, which had some spice to it. The rest of the meal, though, didn’t do much to complete the experience.
Here’s the menu:

They normally have really good dishes, especially the stroganoff, maybe try it again out east…?
I’m about 95% sure that isn’t on the menu anymore.
