A locally owned quick-service Mexican restaurant continues to grow. Road Runner Mexican Food is headed to Derby. They are taking over the former Krispy’s Fried Chicken & Seafood location at 123 S Baltimore Ave.
They originally started as a food truck that would park at 53rd and Meridian. I heard there were some zoning issues when they looked for a new space for their truck, but haven’t seen any updates. Their first brick & mortar location at 5255 N. Maize Road and that followed with a south side store in the former Walt’s Klassics building at 2420 S. Oliver.
I was able to confirm the news of a Derby location, but they didn’t have a tentative opening date to share. Once I hear more, I’ll be sure to pass it along.
