■ St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church Mediterranean Festival | May 14
Where: St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church
This year we are celebrating 90 years as a parish, and since our founding we have shared our food and heritage with the community through public dinners and bake sales. We are grateful to continue this tradition with the 2022 Mediterranean Festival and can’t wait for you to join us!

Symphony in the Gardens is a feast for the senses: hear the Wichita Symphony, see the lush gardens of Botanica, and taste heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks throughout the evening. Stroll through Botanica’s beautiful gardens as you enjoy live music provided by musicians of the Wichita Symphony stationed throughout for this progressive-style concert.

■ Art Together: Explore Asia | May 14
Where: MarkArts
Visit Mark Arts for free family fun during Art Together: Explore Asia on May 14. At 10 a.m., Storytime Village will read “Amy Wu and the Paper Dragon” by Kat Zhang. At 10:30 a.m., guests are invited to create a Chinese dragon puppet. Two cultural dances that celebrate Asian American heritage will be presented by area performers at 11 a.m.: a Kalakrit dance performance and a solo by the Miss Wichita Asian Festival pageant winner, Miss Philippines. Pre-registration is requested.

■ Tacos ‘n’ Tequila | May 14
Where: Wichita Boathouse
Tacos and Tequila is one of Wichita’s most anticipated festivals. Join us at the Wichita Boathouse for a day full of live entertainment, games, great food, fine tequilas, and an assortment of other drinks.

■ Sunflower Boogiedown | May 14
Where: Central Standard Brewing
After a two year hiatus, The Sunflower Boogiedown returns! We’re keepin’ it old school with our friends from Free State Beer. Collab beer releases, block party and bands ALL DAY!!

■ Torchy’s Wichita: Free Taco & Queso Bash | May 19-22
Where: Torchy’s Tacos East & West
Torchy’s Tacos is celebrating the Wichita community and sharing our appreciation the best way we know how: free tacos and queso! From May 19 – 22, both of Torchy’s locations are offering one free taco and one order of Green Chile Queso to every guest that stops by, no purchase necessary. Fans will be able to enjoy Torchy’s world famous queso, along with any taco on the menu, including our May Taco of the Month – The Cougar – made with smoked beef brisket, corn relish, guajillo onion strings, BBQ sauce, chipotle sauce and cilantro on a flour tortilla. Torchy’s Tacos locations are at 2191 N. Rock Road and 2901 North Maize Road.
