■ The Nutcracker (Metropolitan Ballet) | November 26-27
Where: Century II
This year, we are celebrating Artistic Director, Jill Landrith’s 25th year directing The Nutcracker in Wichita, Kansas. Don’t miss this Wichita holiday tradition! All ages will be delighted from the excitement of a holiday party in Victorian times to the thrill of seeing a Christmas tree magically grow on stage as mice and stuffed animals come to life to battle in Clara’s living room. A classic Snow scene and spectacular performances from characters in the Land of Sweets round out this family-friendly ballet.

HEY! You DESERVE a BREAK! This year, we are partnering with Norton’s Brewing Company for Pints for Pencils! Join us Tuesday, November 22nd at Norton’s Brewing Company for great drinks and amazing food. Bring your friends and support local teachers in our community. Proceeds from every beer sold will go to help support the mission of Project Teacher. Custom glasses will also be on sale.

If light shows are on your list of things to do this winter, don’t forget to buy your ticket to the brightest place in Kansas! Botanica’s annual holiday light show, Illuminations, has been voted Top 10 Best Light Show in the country and is the perfect way to create lasting memories and new traditions with friends and loved ones. With over 2 million lights, we’re going a bit over the top this year and have incorporated several all-new light displays. Experience the holiday glow from our new MEGA tree and an interactive stepping stone path. All your favorite features will still be viewable, such as the Funky Tree, the Meadow Show choreographed to music, and so many more.

1 Million Cups is a free, weekly national program designed to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. Every Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m., one or two early-stage startups present their companies to a diverse audience of their peers, mentors, educators, and advisors.

■ Dutch’s Greenhouse Christmas open house | November 25-26
Where: Dutch’s Greenhouse
A beautiful open house with more colors of poinsettias than you will find anywhere in the area. We grow them all ourselves in house, so they are not shipped in. We will wrap them in foil and a bow, put a hole in the foil so it can drain, give you a saucer to catch the excess water and if it’s cold we will wrap them in a bag so they do not get exposed to the elements. These are reasons why our poinsettias are better than anyone else around the Wichita area.

The Envision Arts Gallery & Community Engagement Center is excited to announce the 7th Annual Holiday Market! Featuring local artists & organizations serving individuals with disabilities: Envision Arts, Starkey Inc., The Looking Glass, and Heartspring. Our Holiday Market is inspired by a yearly tradition that was started several years ago at the Envision Arts program by a passionate group of participants who wanted an opportunity to share their creativity with the community of Envision.
